Raymond D. Sweeney

Ellis Medicine Raymond D. Sweeney has been a member of the Ellis Hospital Board of Trustees since June 2011.

Mr. Sweeney has been an influential voice in health policy development in New York State for more than 40 years. He currently serves as a consultant for the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS). Previously, he worked as Executive Vice President at HANYS for 15 years, and served in state government for 25 years, most recently as Director of the Office of Health Systems Management at the NYS Department of Health.

Mr. Sweeney is a board member of IPRO and a clinical professor at the School of Public Health at the State University of New York. He is a former member of the Dean’s Advisory Council at the School of Public Health and Health Professions, State University of New York at Buffalo.

Mr. Sweeney earned his bachelor’s degree in economics at City College of New York and completed Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government Senior State and Local Executives Program.
