Belanger School of Nursing graduates largest class in history

Ellis' Belanger School of Nursing proudly sent 73 new graduates into the nursing profession at our spring graduation on Thursday, May 22! The ceremony was inspiring and uplifting, showcasing the resilience and dedication these new nurses bring to the profession. As healthcare continues to evolve, nurses remain at the heart of patient care—advocating, healing, and making a difference every day.
Director of Emergency Services Laura Heaney delivered the commencement address, welcoming the graduates into the rewarding profession of nursing. A graduate of BSON herself, Laura reflected on the unbreakable bond that all of the BSON alumni share, "rooted in empathy, compassion and a deep dedication to the health and well-being of others."
"You are equipped not only with knowledge but with the heart of a healer. Go out and change the world, one patient and one community at a time," she said.
Sakinah John was nominated by her fellow 2025 graduates to provide the graduating address. Sakinah reflected on the long nights and rewarding moments throughout their time at BSON. "We cried, we studied, we sacrificed, but we never gave up."
