Nurses Union to Hold Informational Pickets

Friday, February 14, 2020

The New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA), the union that represents Ellis Medicine RNs, has notified Ellis that it will conduct two informational pickets on Friday, Feb. 14, in conjunction with the union’s ongoing contract negotiations with Ellis. The pickets are scheduled to be held on public property near Ellis Hospital on Nott Street from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and near Bellevue Woman’s Center from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

Ellis Medicine respects the rights of our unionized nurses to hold informational pickets as part of the ongoing negotiations, and we remain committed to bargaining in good faith with NYSNA with the goal of achieving a contract that is fair, competitive and financially feasible in today’s challenging healthcare environment.

We do not anticipate any disruption to people entering or exiting our facilities during the pickets. Ellis RNs are respectful of our patients, family members and co-workers while on the job, and we trust they will demonstrate that same respect on the picket line.

If you have any questions or concerns about the picketing activity, please call our Public Relations Office at 518-243-4749.
