Honoring our physicians on National Doctors Day

Wednesday, March 30, 2022

March 30 is National Doctors Day, and we hope you will join us in honoring the physicians of Ellis Medicine.

These dedicated professionals earn our appreciation every day, by bringing their hearts to work even in the most difficult of circumstances. The past two years have been hard for all of us, but the doctors of Ellis never wavered in providing the best in care, whether the patient had COVID 19, had broken a leg or was having a baby. They are truly deserving of our thanks.

Doctors have been celebrated on this day since 1933, when a Georgia woman named Eudora Brown Almond thought her husband and his fellow doctors deserved more recognition.  She rallied the community to send cards, host a luncheon and place red carnations on the graves of deceased doctors.  The idea caught on and became an official national holiday in 1990.  Red carnations are still the symbolic flower of National Doctors Day.

Has an Ellis physician made a difference in your life?  We encourage you send a card, a note or maybe a red carnation telling them so.  Thank them in person if you have an appointment!
