Important updates for vaccinated and unvaccinated visitors (Updated August 4, 2021)
All facilities see changes; masking requirements tighten back up with rise in COVID positive cases
With the increases in COVID cases in both Schenectady County and the broader Capital Region, Ellis will be re-implementing several safety and infection control measures designed to limit the spread of the coronavirus. These include universal masking, face shields, screening of all colleagues upon entrance to our facilities and other measures.
We are making the following changes to our COVID protocols, effective Wednesday, August 4, 2021:
UNIVERSAL MASKING - (Updated August 4, 2021)
All visitors, contractors, outpatients and vendors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask when in our facilities. Masks may be removed briefly to eat/drink while maintaining social distancing.
SCREENING (Updated August 4, 2021)
All non-employees, visitors, outpatients, contractor and vendors, regardless of vaccination status, must screen in daily with their temperature check and answer the COVID symptom questions. Screening will continue at Ellis Hospital, Bellevue Woman's Center and the McClellan Street Campus.
