COVID-19 Update: Important Information for Patient Families
Friday, February 19, 2021
Attention Patient Family Members and Loved Ones:
Effective Monday, February 22, we will be providing a timeframe for family members to drop off patient belongings and for families to have virtual calls with the nursing staff. The designated drop off time for patient belongings is between 2 - 5 PM, 7 days a week.
Families can still call 24/7 to speak directly to the patients, but families will be encouraged to only call during the hours of 11 AM – 1 PM and 5 PM – 7 PM to speak with nursing staff directly. Hospital Operators, Information Desk, and Patient Access staff will not transfer calls unless it is during this timeframe. Special circumstances will always be allowed, and requested calls by nursing staff or physicians can still be continued if this falls under a compassionate exception. These exceptions may apply if a special circumstance is warranted or if a patient cannot actively contact their family members and depend on us to connect them over video calls or phone.
Families providing belongings during the day of discharge will still be allowed.
Please note: The Ellis Residential and Rehabilitation Center is not included in this new procedure.
