Ellis Ear, Nose & Throat Care offers audiology services to evaluate and treat hearing loss and issues for infants, toddlers, adolescents and adults. Its audiologist, Andrew Kovalovich, provides hearing evaluations, visual reinforcement audiometry and play audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing and auditory brainstem response.
Pure-tone Testing – measures the faintest tones a person can hear at certain pitches. Each ear is evaluated, using earphones. The patient responds when a noise is heard in either ear.
Visual Reinforcement Audiometry – tests children ages 6 months to 2 years. The toddler is rewarded when they correctly look toward the appropriate sound source.
Play Audiometry – tests children ages 2-5. The child is asked to perform a certain activity every time a sound is heard.
Tympanometry – detects whether fluid is present in the middle ear, if the eardrum is damaged, or if the ear canal is blocked by wax.
Acoustic Reflex Testing – measures the level of, or absence of, acoustic reflexes in the ear.
Auditory Brainstem Response – provides information about how well sounds (nerve impulses) travel along the hearing nerve to the brainstem.
Videonystagmography - a vestibular assessment to evaluate dizziness in patients.
We are now accepting new patients. A physician’s referral or script is required. A hearing test report will be returned to your doctor following your appointment.
