The Sleep Study
Ellis
Medicines Sleep Disorders Center features a comfortable lounge to
help patients unwind before bedtime, a refreshment station and
beautifully furnished bedrooms where patients are monitored during
an overnight stay for sleep disturbances that impair or interrupt
quality sleep.
Prior to bedtime, our sleep technologists will attach small
electrodes to your face, head, legs and chest. There is no
discomfort associated with the application or use of electrodes.
They simply enable our sleep technologists to record the electrical
activity already present in your body and monitor your breathing,
heart rate, brain waves, leg movement and eye movements.
Depending on the study's findings, several treatment options are
possible, including:
- Modifications of sleep habits;
- Prescribing a device to assist in maintaining an open airway
during sleep;
- Medications.
