Pediatric Services at Ellis Medicine

Ellis Medicine provides care for infants, children and adolescents both in the hospital and at several outpatient offices.

Inpatient Pediatric Care

Inpatient care for children and adolescents (ages 28 days through 18 years) is provided on a dedicated pediatric unit in the C-wing, 5th floor of Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.

The Pediatric Unit is staffed 24 hours a day by a pediatric hospitalist (a pediatrician dedicated to the care of hospitalized children and adolescents) and by nurses who are specially trained in pediatric medicine. A nurse educator is another member of the team who provides parents and families with the information, support and guidance they need during their child's time at the hospital.

The Pediatric unit has a specialized security system and features a play room with game systems, books, toys, a television and a DVD library.

Pediatric Health Center

At Ellis Medicine's Pediatric Health Center (located at the Ellis Health Center, 624 McClellan Street, Schenectady), our board certified pediatricians lead a highly trained team of clinicians who specialize in caring for children.

From annual check-ups, immunizations and sick visits, to the concerns that come with growth and development, our team provides comprehensive care for your child. The Pediatric Health Center follows a medical home model of care, which means we're the first place you can turn whenever you need help or have questions - whether you have concerns about your child's physical or emotional health, need guidance if your child is having difficulties at school or need assistance with community and public health services that impact your child's well being.
