Weight Loss Seminars and Support Groups

To start, you'll need to attend the Bariatric Orientation Seminar and you'll need a letter of medical necessity from your primary care physician.
Bariatric Orientation Seminars are free informational sessions for weight loss surgery candidates. The seminars are conducted by a surgeon from the Ellis Medicine Bariatric Care Center. Bariatric Support Groups are free and give weight loss patients and potential patients an intimate forum in which to discuss personal and medical issues. Ellis offers four support groups that meet on a regular basis: one for lap band patients, one for gastric bypass patients and a general bariatric surgery support group. We also offer a general bariatric support group in Queensbury for patients from more northern communities.
