The Proper Care in the Proper Place
At the center of Ellis Medicine's extensive restructuring efforts has been a focus on ensuring that the proper level of care is offered in the proper location. To this point, the new Enhanced Urgent Care facility will allow Ellis to bring care closer to people in one of the fastest growing areas of the state. This is certainly good news for people in Clifton Park, Halfmoon, Mechanicville, Stillwater, Round Lake and other nearby communities.
EMS Collaboration
Ellis Medicine already works closely EMS crews in the Clifton Park/Halfmoon communities. Ellis has donated enhanced EKG units that enable EMS professionals to transmit EKGs from the field directly to the Ellis Hospital Emergency Department and a cardiologist's cell phone. As a result of the improved communication and lead time for readying the hospitals resources, Ellis door-to-balloon time beats the national goal by 34 minutes. On average, it takes only 56 minutes for a heart attack patient to get from the hospital's emergency room to the catheterization laboratory where a balloon is inflated to restore blood flow - improving outcomes and quality of life.
